App Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain how you may use the otio mobile app ("otio," "we," "our," or "the App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please do not use the App.

About the App

otio is a mobile app designed to help users track emotions, reflect, and support their mental well-being. You are free to use otio for both personal and professional contexts (e.g., healthcare settings). We do not currently restrict commercial use.

We may consider open-sourcing the app in the future, which could change how modification or redistribution is handled. For now, please do not modify or redistribute the app without permission.

Health Disclaimer

otio is not a substitute for therapy or professional medical advice. Always consult a licensed healthcare provider if you have questions about mental health or a medical condition. If you are in crisis or at risk of harming yourself or others, seek emergency help immediately.

Data and Privacy

We collect the following data:

  • Email address (used for account creation and login)

  • Emotions you log

  • Contextual notes you write related to emotions

  • Energy levels associated with each emotional log

This data is stored securely in Firebase. It is encrypted in transit per Apple’s App Transport Security (ATS) standards. It is not currently encrypted at rest.

You can export your data from within the app, and you can request deletion of your data anytime by emailing hi@otio.world.

Acceptable Use

Please use otio responsibly:

  • Don’t use it for anything illegal or harmful

  • Don’t harass or abuse others

  • Don’t misuse the service or interfere with others’ use

No Guarantees

We do our best to keep Otio running smoothly, but the app is provided "as is." We don’t guarantee that it will always work perfectly or without interruption.

Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for any harm or loss that may result from your use of the app. You use otio at your own risk.

Legal Stuff

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we’ll try to let you know. By continuing to use the app after changes are posted, you accept the updated Terms.
